GEAR RAFT BAG

Rafters manufacture a variety of high quality tackle bags which are lined with foam to protect your valuable fishing or camera gear. Their Gear Raft bag has an inch-thick foam shell lining the main interior compartment, lid, and four outside compartments, shielding the bag’s contents from shocks as well as providing floatation. In fact, the bag will float with around 20 pounds of gear stowed within—good insurance for anyone fishing from boats or canoes—and making these bags stand out from others on the market.

The Gear Raft bag has multiple compartments designed to hold everything you need for a day on the water. The interior compartment consists of a liner with more pockets and sleeves than Inspector Gadget. This can be removed to reveal one large cargo area, or used to organise your fishing equipment. The top cover, front and back all have zipped compartments for maps, leaders etc. Four outer compartments (one each end and two at the front) are ideal for frequently used items such as fly boxes.

The Rafters bag is made from 100% waterproof material and the zips are covered with a fabric flap that will repel all but the most direct rain or immersion, ensuring your gear will remain nice and dry throughout the day. The top cover fits snugly over the main compartment and is secured with both a zipper and two heavy duty catches. Both a hand strap on the top cover and a padded shoulder strap are provided for ease of transport.

I find the bag to be a good size for day trips with plenty of room for some spare gear, a camera, and a few comfort items. One thing’s for sure–your valuable equipment is kept well protected from unexpected knocks and the elements.
