CENTRAL COAST
FLY RODDERS
Email: ccflyclub@optusnet.com.au
Web: http://au.geocities.com/ccflyclub
The Central Coast Fly Rodders' (CCFR), was formed out of a discussion on the Internet between a couple of Fly Fishos who felt that it was time that the Central Coast area had its own fly fishing club. Previously the only fly-only clubs within the reach of the Central Coast were at Newcastle and in Sydney, which meant members could not be as actively involved as they would like due to the travel. One of the people involved (David Witham) in this discussion took the lead and gauged the interest in having a fly-only club. The interest was bigger than anticipated, so a meeting was organised for the club to get started. The first meeting on August the 2nd 2003, saw 16 fly fishos attend from all over the coast, and here we are today. The main aim of the club is to further the sport of flyfishing through the activities and knowledge sharing of our members, but also to have fun enjoying the sport of fly fishing. Meetings are held 1st Wednesday of every month starting at 7pm at the Kariong Neighbourhood Centre, 10 Langford Drive, Kariong. Coffee & Tea refreshments available. Trip and meeting updates available from our web site. |

COUNCIL OF VICTORIAN FLY-FISHING CLUBS
Contact: Secretary Rod Booker, PO Box 1117, Traralgon. Victoria. 3844
Email: harcourt@datafast.net.au
The CVFFC is well into its third decade. The CVFFC was originally formed by a number of keen and forward thinking fly-fishers such as the late Jack Ritchie, Howard Scrivenor, Wal Coventry, to name a few. The original intent for the council was for it to be the umbrella organisation of all Victorian fly-fishing clubs. The CVFFC's charter is to represent and promote the interests and aims of fly-fishers at a governmental level without fear or favour. Both city & country organisations took an active interest in council activities. The CVFFC is an effective, efficient and united group that has a transparent agenda that has received majority support. The council has a significant input into the debate on recreational fishing. Its views and opinions are sought by policy makers here in Victoria and also throughout Australia. The Council was very much involved in the formation of the Victorian Recreational Fishing Peak Body. In fact the original, and still current, chairman, Pat Washington, is a CVFFC delegate to VR Fish. Christopher Collins, the President of the CVFFC for the past 5 years, represents the VFFA and is currently on the board of VR Fish. Dennis Nettlefold, the third CVFFC delegate to VR Fish is President of Southern Fly-Fishers. The only way that individual fly fishing club's views can be passed on to VR Fish is via the Council of Victorian FLY CLUBS. So if you have an opinion or a particular issue that you want to champion pass it on to the CVFFC. We have an effective voice and our opinions are sought and listened to. |

Meetings - 4th Thursday of the month, 7:30pm.
Incorporated on 9th June 1998. At the time the sport was undergoing a wave of popularity and the club’s numbers quickly grew, at one stage having well over 100 financial members.
The club quickly developed its finances and as a result, is now extremely well placed in terms of its financial backing. As anticipated, membership fell off after the initial influx and we now have a solid core of financial members with a substantial emphasis on family membership. Statistically, the club counts family membership as one person only so the actual number of people participating in the club and enjoying the benefits of the club is far greater than the actual number of members recorded.
For a fishing club we are fortunate to have a number of active female members and our junior membership is also reasonable. |

RED TAG FLY FISHERS CLUB INC. - Fairfield
Contact: Secretary, PO Box 5095, Alphington, VIC 3078
Web: www.theredtag.com.au
Many years ago a lone bait fisherman, spending his Saturday afternoons on the Toorourrong at Whittlesea, was attracted by the method of a fellow angler using a dry fly who cast to and secured a fish at what seemed an incredible distance. He at once determined to study this very different method of taking trout. The dry fly fisherman was Mr Reg Lyne of Melbourne; the observer, Mr Wilf Crouch of Doncaster, and the chance meeting of these two enthusiasts was destined, in later years, to result in a purely fly fisher’s club.
The rapid and permanent conversion of numerous bait anglers followed, and in 1932 some fifty anglers banded themselves together under the appropriate title of "Red Tag" club. |

The WFFC is one of the oldest FLY CLUBS in Victoria, formed in 1947 after a series of meetings convened by keen local fly fishermen Vic Culph and Bill Law. The aim of the club when formed and up until today is to provide local fly fishers with an effective voice in the development and management of the trout fishery in North East Victorian waters and the opportunity to meet and socialize with other fly fishers. We also conduct an introductory fly-fishing and tying course each year and numerous club trips. The club meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the YMCA building, Ryan Avenue, Wangaratta at 7.30 p.m. Any fly fishers visiting the area are most welcome to attend. For further information about the club or the district please visit our website or contact us at the above E-mail address. |
WA TROUT & FRESHWATER ANGLING ASS. INC. (1967)

The Western Australian Trout & Freshwater Angling Association Incorporated (WATFAA) was formed in 1967 from an amalgamation of all the trout acclimatization societies of WA. Prior to that time, all efforts to stock trout in WA relied on a fragmented approach from regional acclimatization groups. Local groups controlled the stocking and of course the access to their own local waters. The formation of WATFAA meant that any decision making process was centralised and made for easier liaison with the WA Fisheries Department. For a more detailed look at what we do and how we do it, visit us on our web site. |

Wellington Flyfishers Club is one of the largest FLY CLUBS in New Zealand. Being the capital city, Wellington attracts a wide variety of people, many for only a short time. Some members are lost to the club each year because they become employed elsewhere and don't renew their subscription. Some members are resident overseas. The club is still growing and currently has about 250 members. Meetings are informal - visitors and new members are welcome - check our webpage for details of meetings (first Monday of every month), flytying classes, casting practice, on-stream days, club trips, competitions, Capital Trout Center and other activities. |
